Ilse A. Rasmussen started as Organic Eprints coordinator in ICROFS October 2010. Her main responsibilities are coordination and development of Organic Eprints (orgprints.org). Ilse is responsible for the contact to the European partners and country editors. It is her task to strengthen the international collaboration and contact new potential country editors. She participates in international projects on development and use of Organic Eprints and integration of metadata from it to other open-access-platforms. She also contributes to information and dissemination of research.

    Previous professional experience

    Ilse was formerly employed as a senior scientist at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, Aarhus University, from 1989 to 2010. Her main task was research on weed biology, prevention and control, especially concerning non-chemical weed control and weed management in organic farming. She worked on the whole plant production system including crop rotation and nutrition, even though her focus was on arable cash crops such as cereals.

    Ilse contributed to developing the education at the Faculty and was responsible for the bachelor course on Organic Farming and participated in developing the masters course on Organic Farming. For several years she was thematic coordinator on plant production in the public advisory service of the faculty.

    Earlier Ilse was an advisor in organic farming and previously teacher in organic farming. I 2010 Ilse was employed five months in the Danish Environmental Protection Agency.


    Educational background

    Ilse has a M.Sc. in agronomy.


    Organic Eprints

    Since 2002, the Centre has developed and open-access archive for research papers in organic agriculture, Organic Eprints. And in 2003, the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture, FiBL, joined the project as an international partner. Organic Eprints has more than 4,000 visits a day (www.orgprints.org).


    European cooperation
    ICROFS coordinates European trans-national research concerned with organic food and farming systems under the headline of Core Organic. Moreover, ICROFS is actively involved in a European research project on improving the organic certification system
